Western Suburbs Driving School offers a full range of driving courses to cover all your driving tuition needs. Should you have requirements that differ from the list below please contact us to see if we can help.


The most common way to learn to drive is to have one or two lessons a week. When you and your instructor agree you are ready you sit the practical driving test (usually takes between 8-12 weeks). All lessons are structured.


Overseas licence conversion. $260.00   [Book Now]
Recommend double lesson around centre where test to be taken then next day car for lesson and test. During lessons we highlight requirements. Single lessons available at $50.00 lesson rate.


Refresher course. $55.00   [Book Now]
A unique lesson that focuses specifically on the needs of the student. We specialise in establishing weaknesses and rectifying them. The lessons focus on strategies to build confidence to return to the road quickly and safely.


Aged retraining $55.00   [Book Now]
Assess driver then make recommendations during 40 minute lesson.


Booster Course. (Price RE Students Requirements)   [Book Now]
Designed for pupils that are close to sitting the Practical Driving test and need a short burst of driving prior to the driving test. The test Booster Course is also ideal for those who may have previously failed a driving test and have not had any lessons since.


Log Book Driving. $60.00 (hour)   [Book Now]
Our normal rate is $55.00 - 45 minute lesson = $73 / hour we discount our log book driving to $60.00, a discount of $13.00 per hour.


Semi Intensive Course. $1177.00   [Book Now]
This type of course is a good way to learn to drive over a short period of time without the commitment of the Intensive Driving Course. You are under less pressure without the commitment of having a double lesson daily for two weeks. With the Semi Intensive Course you will eliminate the disadvantages of hourly lessons, such as continuity and feeling out of practice because you are driving with an increased level of activity. The intensity of the course can be increased or decreased depending on your availability.


Intensive driving course. $1177.00   [Book Now]
This course is the fastest way to pass your phase 1 driving assessment and be on your way to getting your full license. Generally the course comprises ten double lessons of over ten days followed by your practical driving assessment but can be tailored to suit your personal learning pace with which you feel comfortable with. Our instructors will take you through the whole process of learning to drive from novice standard to ‘test’ standard. Manual and auto vehicle instruction available.


Defensive driving course. $295.00 (4 hours)   [Book Now]
Our defensive driving course in designed to build your confidence when driving on major roads, freeways and country highways. Our specialist instructor’s will cover a range of topics such as correct entry and exit procedures for freeways, safe lane changing on freeways, choosing the safest lane to drive in, how to ‘read the traffic’, strategies on how to deal with ‘tailgaters’ and other practical driving information.
As an option at additional cost, our instructor’s can also cover basic car craft such as how to safely change a tyre, fill up the fuel tank, basic under the bonnet checks and your responsibilities if you are involved in a motor vehicle accident.

Do you want to become a driving instructor?

Western Suburbs Driving School is looking for quality instructors. With our methodology and training, you could be part of Perth's most respected driving school.

Our Instructor Training Course offers candidates a practical, hands on approach to instructor training.

Our Cert IV qualified instructor will train you in all aspects of becoming a driving instructor. At the end of your training, you should be able to confidently pass your driving instructors test.

The training course covers some of the following areas:
* D.P.I. requirements for becoming a driving instructor
* Assess your current driving and provide positive feedback
* Instruct you on how to use dual controls
* What to look for in learner drivers' driving techniques
* How to instruct with actual sit ins' on driving lessons
* What the practical driving assessments consists of. The test sheet
* What you will be required to teach a learner driver
* What maneuvers are required for the driving assessment
* Provide guidance to starting your own sub-contract driving school business ie: point you in the right direction
* Visit to a driving test centre to see what and how it all works
* Interactive sessions on driving correctly
* Prepare you for the D.P.I driving instructors assessment

The course duration varies from person to person. It generally takes about six to ten hours of instruction.

Course fees: $75.00 per hour. You only pay for the training you receive.

Working with WSDS offers a flexible working environment with excellent remuneration package with many benefits. Experience is not necessary as we like to train and teach WSDS methods and ideology.
